Eliko Rugs by David Ariel announces its first-ever licensed collection—developed in partnership with interior designer and media personality Anne-Marie Barton—debuting in the rug company’s High Point Market showroom in October.
Handwoven in India, the collection consists of over 27 luxe area rugs in a variety of sizes, featuring a range of fine wool, mohair, and cashmere rendered in plush, high and low pile expressions.
“We’re honored to collaborate with Anne-Marie Barton for our first designer collection,” says David Basalely, co-founder of the to-the-trade rug resource. “She has brought much enthusiasm and creative energy, along with her perspective as a practicing interior designer, to the product development process.”
“Everything about her rugs is grounded in a timeless pursuit of natural beauty that is also practical,” adds Basalely. “Anne-Marie’s collection represents a remarkable success story in bridging woven art from the ancient past with today’s—and tomorrow’s—interiors.”
Reflecting this natural, organic aesthetic, each signature look imparts Barton’s relaxed sensibility and long held passion for layering soft floor coverings throughout her high-end, residential interior projects.
“I wanted the collection to be layered with the grit and patina of vintage rugs in a soulful way,” says Barton. “It should elicit an emotional response in the beholder, bringing a sense of comfort and serenity to mind.”
“The makers’ authenticity conveyed in this collection is undeniable,” she adds. “Before going to India, I imagined the colors and the textures and the hands that would make my rugs, but being there and witnessing the artisans at work in their familial and natural environments exceeded all of my expectations.”
A special presentation and celebratory launch event in the Eliko Rugs by David Ariel showroom located at 108 S. Lindsay St. is scheduled for Sunday, October 27, starting at 6pm.
