Atelier Tapis Rouge Introduces the Ambiance Collection

A kaleidoscope of images, memories, and sensations translated into surfaces, warming the environment in harmony with the interior decoration and furniture embody the rugs of Atelier Tapis Rouge's Ambiance collection.

A dreamlike journey through the Parisian neighborhoods with their elegant and romantic allure: a walk along the Seine or in the bohemian Marais district.

The gaze projected onto a timeless city, an extended palette of summer colors recorded at different times of the day and the night: soft and warm in the morning and cool and darker in the evening.

The Ambiance Collection is one of the most extensive collections in the catalog, and recalls a carnet de voyage through fine yarns and refined craftsmanship: notes of a wide range of textures, colors, and places.

It is a tribute to the time of observation-slow and meticulous-in stark contrast to the speed of the contemporary, as well as a memoir whose subject matter is the perception of so many places filtered through the eyes of the visitor.

Permanent traces of memories are transformed into textile artworks that decorate the floor and create a cosmopolitan atmosphere inside the house. La Seine L'Apres Midi, La Seine Au Crepuscule, Le Marais Le Soir, Le Marais Au Petit Matin, La Chapelle De Jour, La Chapelle De Nuit, Galeries Lafayette, Rue Cler, Jeanneret Coupe de Rose, Jeanneret Poil de Chameau, Jardin de Giverny, and Moulin Rouge are the creations in the collection that masterfully express the essence and the charm of Paris.

The result of a long process of thorough study and research, the collection enhances Atelier Tapis Rouge's design skills in crafting rugs capable of making their mark. Delicate nuances harmoniously mix a color palette ranging from yellow to gray in an interweaving of sophisticated and elegant textures.

The creative force of a drawing is transmitted into the personality of a design object conceived to last, whose lines, textile surfaces, and colors can adapt to even very different styles.

The Ambiance collection makes color one of its main strengths by defining the hues based on the rays of light recorded throughout the day: a contrast between pastel colors for daytime, where the light is more intense and saturated, and darker brushstrokes for twilight, where the sun's rays gradually become more powerless, leaving the scene to the twilight and the moon.

In keeping with Nepalese tradition, the rugs are made using the hand-knotting technique with high-quality, all-natural silk and New Zealand wool yarn.

The composition of graphic lines and geometric patterns play on different levels to add a dynamic touch to the design. In addition, high concentrations of silk allow for bright accents or "watery" highlights, as in the La Seine series. These masterpieces of craftsmanship translate well into Atelier Tapis Rouge's ability to continue as the undisputed protagonist of the contemporary high-end rugs’ scene.
