Ashley International Outlet Opens in Brunei by Jackhan

Special guest Yang Mulia Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mustafa Bin Haji Murat, leader of the Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque officiated the Grand Opening celebration.

Additionally, special guests from the Association for Disabled Children (KACA) and the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB) joined Jackhan leadership and employees at the event.

The new store is owned and operated by Jackhan, who owns two additional Ashley Furniture HomeStores in the surrounding region. The Bandar Seri Begawan store will employe approximately six people.

As the first international Ashley Outlet, this is also the first Ashley Outlet to open in Brunei. Ashley Furniture HomeStore, one of the world’s best-selling home furnishings brands, has more than 1,100 locations worldwide.

“The new outlet focuses on serving a different segment of the Brunei’s market,” stated Jason Son, Managing Director of Jackhan Sdn. Bhd. “We wanted to create differentiation between our Homestore and Outlet that will allow us to provide basic needs and furniture essentials with a feel-like-home, great value and low prices every day.”

Ashley Outlet is a new store concept focusing on guest convenience and providing comfortable and quality products. With hundreds of home furnishing products, many of them being ‘grab and go’ so guests can take it home the same day, Ashley Outlet provides an easy shopping experience from start to finish.   

The new Ashley Outlet showroom design features products by category. Whether guests are shopping for Recliners, Dining, Bedroom, Outdoor, Home Office, Mattress, or accessories, they will be able to easily navigate the store and quickly find what they’re looking for.

During the celebration, Jackhan made monetary donations to KACA, a non-governmental organization which aims to improve the welfare of children with special needs in Brunei; and the BDNAB, an association with a mission to empower the blind and partially sighted community by promoting equality and facilitating full participation in society.
