14th Annual Golf Outing Proves to Be Record Breaking

The 14th annual “Tee It Up Fore Autism” charity golf outing, hosted by Coconis Furniture, proved to be a record-breaking year, with over $90,000 raised. Over 160 golfers came to play, including local businesses and many manufacturers and representatives came together to make this event so successful, with Serta/Simmons Bedding the Ultra Diamond Sponsor for the fourteenth year.

All proceeds benefit the National Autism Association of Southeast Ohio, a local chapter who provides education and grants to local kids and their families to provide a path to recovery. A special presentation was made by the Doyle Family, “A Story of Hope and Recovery”, with a special performance by Caelen Doyle.

“Autism does not have to be a lifelong disorder, but can be managed, improved, and sometimes full recovery is possible.” said Shannon Coconis, President of NAASEO. “There is no reason a child should be locked inside of autism because of a lack of funds; the NAASEO exists to help families’ battle autism and help kids recover. The “Tee It Up Fore Autism” charity outing would not be a success without the help of the furniture and mattress industry.”

Major sponsors in the furniture and mattress industry include Ultra Diamond Sponsor - Serta Simmons Bedding, Furniture 1st Buying Group, 3 Z Brands, Superior Logistics, TD Bank and Ashley along with many other Furniture and Mattress companies and representatives have stepped up to make this a success. Other sponsors from the industry were Tempur-Pedic, Homestretch, Ultra Comfort, Flexsteel, Mavin, FurnitureDealer.net, Vaughan Bassett, Parker House, and Orbit Interactive, Tools2BFirst, England, Purple, Digio, Kuka, Harkness Furniture, Infinger Furniture, Direct Results, BedGear and Guardsman.

“This is the best and most rewarding thing we do.” said Randy Coconis, President of Coconis Furniture. “I have seen firsthand how getting the kids and families the proper help and therapy at an early age can make a huge difference in their lives. When parents say “thank-you” with tears in their eyes, you know you are doing something right.”

Over the past 14 years the “Tee It Up Fore Autism” event has been held, Coconis Furniture & Mattress 1st has raised over $600,000 for the National Autism Association of Southeastern Ohio (NAASEO). Also presented at the Tee It Up Fore Autism event was a check to NAASEO for $27,593 from Doug Krinsky from the Ante for Autism Poker Tournament held at Las Vegas Market in 2023.
