Decorating Den Interiors Names Annual Award Winners

Interior design franchisee Kimberly Paulus, of Missouri City, Texas was named Franchise Owner of the Year, the highest business award presented by Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company. Paulus (https://monarchdesigns.decoratingden.com/) was honored as part of the company’s annual international conference held recently in Nashville.
Paulus left a successful corporate career to pursue her passion in interior design by qualifying for Decorating Den Interiors franchise in 2016. The next year, she received the Rookie of the Year Award. In 2018, she was one of the top ten franchises in sales.
In 2019, Paulus was selected as Designer of the Year by a panel of interior design journalists who judged her bedroom makeover the best out of 385 entries in 12 room categories in the company’s International Dream Room Competition.
“Kimberly has been a consistent leader since opening her franchise,” said James S. Bugg, Jr., president and CEO. “While this award does take sales into account, it is equally about demonstrating exemplary characteristics of leadership, business management, and design excellence.”

Rising Star Award
Sandy Schuster, who started her franchise in Denver in early 2022, was named Rising Star by the company’s executive team. “In short order, Sandy has set numerous sales records, in her region and corporate” said Bugg. “Not only is she an outstanding designer, but her business acumen is excellent.” Schuster (www.roomsbysandy.decoratingden.com ) also won an Inaugural Award for achieving a certain one-year sales milestone for the first time.
