Diversity Advocacy Alliance Accepting Applications

The Diversity Advocacy Alliance (DAA), working in partnership with the High Point Market Authority (HPMA), has opened its 2025-2026 committee member applications to the industry, through June 21.

During a two-year term that begins in January 2025, committee members will be tasked with executing the organization’s mission, which promotes the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at High Point Market and within the home furnishings sector.

The group’s mission statement expresses a commitment to expanding representation of the BIPOC community and facilitating the implementation of equitable policies and practices throughout the industry and its leadership.

“This is an invitation to grow the reach of DAA and bring in new voices from across the industry,” says Patti Carpenter, principal of carpenter + company and DAA committee chair. “We’re excited to amplify the mission with fresh ideas and energy from our new committee members.”

Anyone working in the industry who is interested in supporting the DEI mission established by DAA should complete the application form by June 21, 2024. From the submitted applications, four new committee members will be selected by the current DAA committee.

The new committee members will be invited to a DAA orientation meeting planned during the next High Point Market trade event, in October.
