Houston Furniture Bank Gala Provides for Families in Need

The Houston Furniture Bank, in partnership with Houston area charities, provides essential furniture to families in transition.
In 2023, The Furniture Bank provided over 20,000 pieces of furniture to families in need, adding to the more than 40,000 families they have helped since 1992. The more donations received, the more families are able to end ‘furniture poverty,’ and the more children have a safe and comfortable bed to sleep in at night.
The Houston Furniture bank manufactures mattresses, provides a location to recycle used mattresses, acts as an assistance organization for families who need to purchase furniture packages for clients, and work with charitable organizations to provide furniture to families in need.
Additionally, they house an art gallery for area artists to donate their work so that families can decorate their homes with an artist’s work of their choosing. Finally, their D.I.V.A.S. program (Designing Interiors Volunteer at Your Service) partner with the Houston Furniture Bank to serve these families with a home makeover so they will move into a beautiful home in their transition toward stability.
This year, on June 1 at the River Oaks Country Club, the Houston Furniture Bank will hold a Gala to raise money to continue their mission. This theme this year is “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep: No Kids on the Floor.”
Legacy honorees include Hoffer Furniture (The Hoffer Family), Finger Furniture (The Finger Family) and Star Furniture (The Wolff Family). Chairs of the event are Francie Willis and Bernie Falco.
The event is still seeking sponsors. For questions or to submit a sponsorship form, you can email events@houstonfurniturebank.org. Houston Furniture Bank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Individual tickets will be available at a later date. Visit the Houston Furniture Bank Website for information about the event and their organization.
