North Carolina Furniture Store Destroyed by Fire

The Sound Furniture and Appliance Store in Cedar Point, North Carolina was completely lost to a fire on Saturday night. The initial call for the fire came in around 12:45am and over 15 agencies were involved in the fire fighting and response effort.
The building was fully engulfed in heavy flames, and an adjoining business suffered moderate damage and four other adjoining businesses suffered minor smoke and water damage. The scene was cleared around 9:30am.
Located along Highway 28 at 600 Cedar Point Road, Sound Furniture and Appliance Store has been in business for 50 years.
They have a message on their website concerning the fire, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that our beloved furniture store has suffered a devastating fire. Our hearts are heavy, but our spirits are lifted by the incredible outpouring of support & prayers from this wonderful community. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness and encouragement during this challenging time”
