Ashley Distributes Over 6,000 Trees to Employees on Arbor Day

Each year, Ashley distributes over 6,000 trees to the employees in observance of Arbor Day. Since 1993, over 100,000 trees have been donated by Ashley and planted over the years.

This initiative is a part of Ashley’s environmental stewardship efforts and has become an honored tradition. In addition to the Arbor Day tree distribution, Ashley has hosted annual tree-planting workshops with local schools since 2006.

The students learn planting techniques, the benefits of planting trees and have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with planting trees.

“Planting trees is not only an investment in our environment, but also in the future of our communities,” said Todd Wanek, president and CEO, Ashley Furniture Industries. “By planting trees, we are preserving natural habitats, improving air quality and creating a greener world for generations to come.”

Over the past 30 years, Ashley and the Wanek family have invested over $750,000 in tree planting in the areas surrounding Ashley’s advanced manufacturing and distribution facilities across the country. This commitment stems from the importance of abundant trees for environmental benefits, along with the enrichment it brings to local communities.
