Symphony Sleep®, the residential bedding brand of Innovative Sleep Technologies, has created big opportunities for furniture retailers with its newly released hi-low lift kit that can serve the growing number of older Americans choosing to age in place.
The Symphony Sleep® ESHILO lift kit allows residential furniture and bedding retailers to offer a high-quality in-home bedding solution that lowers, raises and tilts the bed for assisted, in-home care. This meets a critical need for people aging in place who may require help with daily living activities such as moving in and out of their bed. Caregivers also benefit from the assistance.
Important research shows the potential consumer base for life-enhancing products for aging in place Americans, such as the hi-low lift kit.
· From 2010-2020, the number of U.S. adults ages 60 and older increased 33%. The Centers for Disease Control says the 85 and older population is projected to more than double from 6.7 million in 2020 to 14.4 million in 2040.
· According to a report from the University of Michigan, about 88% of U.S. adults ages 50-80 feel it’s important to remain in their homes for as long as possible.
· A trends report from the Journal of Gerontology shows the percentage of older adults living in nursing homes has declined while the percentage of older adults living in traditional housing has increased over the past 20 years.
The ESHILO is an accessory kit adaptable to several Symphony Sleep adjustable base models with a quick frame-to-frame connection. It comes with a wired, ergonomic remote with variable height lifting capabilities as high as 31.5 inches and as low as 10 inches from the floor.
It also has a maximum tilt angle of 12.5 degrees for added assistance in care and maintenance. This feature provides the added benefit of Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg positions in cases where this is medically needed.
“As part of our R&D process we identify trends in the marketplace to create products that make a difference in people’s lives and opportunities for our retail partners,” said John Schulte, Innovative Sleep Technologies president
