Standard Fiber Announces Increased Investments for Growth

Standard Fiber, home textiles supplier, announced major investments in response to strong growth in its mattress division. The company has opened its second North American factory and bolstered resources across its global product development teams.

The company-operated, 60,000-square-foot facility located in Tijuana, Mexico is primarily focused on near-shore mattress textile cut and sew, providing faster response time at competitive pricing. Combined with Standard Fiber’s extensive manufacturing network and expanded capacity in Asia, this new factory is a strong strategic investment for a blended supply solution and reinforces its foothold as a one-stop destination for mattress partners.

“At Standard Fiber, we believe that progressive brands seek to utilize blended supply models to deliver the best value to their consumers and shareholders. Our value proposition does not boil down to price alone because our approach weaves innovation, sustainability, local design, and domestic distribution to provide our customers the full value of what a textile supplier partnership should be,” said Brandon Wells, executive vice president, wholesale.

With product development teams in Europe, Asia and the U.S., the company’s latest investments in this area include hiring top talent for key sales and innovation roles and increasing its focus on sustainability in materials and operations.

Standard Fiber recently hired 30-year textiles industry veteran Mike Muller as vice president of sales to enhance service levels to its existing and prospective mattress brand and manufacturing customers. The company also named Cat Lee vice president of product development and innovation with a focus on forward-thinking performance technologies.

“We are leveraging our unique exposure to the apparel and bedding accessories businesses to benefit the mattress industry. Our reputation for exciting and meaningful innovation in utility bedding translates well to the mattress business, and when you take that with experience and major investments, we offer extraordinary value,” said Wells.

Standard Fiber will be at ISPA Expo in booth 601, March 12-14, with a creatively themed presentation to help customers build their perfect mattress.
