AHFA Logistics Conference Early Registration Deadline Extended

Registration is underway for the 2024 Logistics Conference in Charleston, South Carolina, presented by AHFA’s Specialized Furniture Carriers division.

Keynoting the June 17-19 event is professional entertainer, American Ninja Warrior competitor, author and motivational speaker Alex Weber. Known for helping individuals and organizations unlock new levels of achievement, Weber connects with audiences through humor, storytelling and unbridled energy.

The $275 early registration has been extended to March 15 for AHFA member companies. From March 16 to May 3, members can register for $325. From May 4 to May 31, registration is $395.

Highlighting the June agenda are several sessions exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on transportation and supply chain operations. Providing an overview of the economy and the state of the industry will be Mark Vitner, chief economist at Piedmont Crescent Capital, a boutique economic consulting firm that provides strategic insights and guidance on U.S. and regional economic conditions.

Also confirmed on the logistics program is former Samson Marketing CEO/President Kevin O’Connor. O’Connor launched Legacy Classic Furniture in 1999, partnering with Samuel Kuo of Samson Holding on a new logistics model that enabled retailers to mix a variety of products and styles on a direct-container basis.

The new approach enabled independent stores to affordably source smaller quantities of imported products. He was appointed president and CEO of Samson Marketing, which includes Legacy and Universal Furniture, in 2006. Prior to launching Legacy, O’Connor was president of Hyundai Furniture in the 1980s and president of Master Design in the mid-1990s. He served as chair of the High Point Market Authority from 2006 to 2012 and was instrumental in reinvigorating premarket.

An optional golf outing at Westcott Plantation is planned for June 17, and a tour of Joint Base Charleston, a U.S. Air Force Base in the City of North Charleston, on June 18 is included in the conference registration. AHFA has a block of discounted rooms at the Francis Marion Hotel for three days before and three days after the conference for attendees who want to plan an extended stay in Charleston. Discounted rooms are $229 per night and are available until May 15 or until the block is sold out. Be sure to secure your room online or call 877-756-2121 and mention AHFA Logistics Conference.
