Coaster Fine Furniture Boosts Fashion Game at Spring HPMKT

Leading North American furniture distributor Coaster Fine Furniture is boosting its fashion game at the forthcoming Spring High Point Market with 40 new upholstered furniture designs set apart by fresh, rounded curves; plush, textured fabrics; and a comprehensive palette of on-trend color choices.

The major upholstery introduction set to roll out in the Coaster showroom (111 East Commerce Avenue) signals the company’s intent to reframe buyers’ expectations in the middle of the marketplace with designer looks that “won’t break the bank.”

“Whatever their budget, shoppers at all price points are more visually sophisticated than ever before thanks to the influence of social media. They want to buy things for their home that relate to what they see on Instagram and TikTok,” said Lisa Romero, director of product development at Coaster Fine Furniture. “This is particularly true when it comes to attracting younger demographics to full-line, brick-and-mortar furniture stores.”

To help Coaster’s dealers stand out to these social savvy shoppers, Romero is tapping a spectrum of bright and spicey colors like turmeric and mustard in the company’s latest offering, including nods to color-of-the-year choices promoted by major paint brands and forecasters like Behr (Cracked Pepper), Pantone (Peach Fuzz) and Benjamin Moore. “In fabrics, buyers are responding to soft, inviting textures that feel good to the touch, like boucle, faux sherpas, chenille and wide-ribbed corduroys,” she said.

Translating looks more typically associated with upscale homes and the influencer set to affordable price points can be challenging, yet Romero, who has specialized in textiles for the better part of her career, refuses to settle for the ubiquitous, linen-like looks that are so pervasive in the lower-end of the marketplace.

“We are dedicated to sourcing fabrics that stand out,” Romero said. “Our inspiration comes from trend reports, trending décor colors and textiles. We find fabrics to complement our frames, ensuring that each collection exudes quality and uniqueness.”

In terms of silhouettes, curvy, kidney shapes are leading the way this season, along with large, over-scale modulars with plush, foam-padded arms and decks and an emphasis on sink-in-and-stay-awhile comfort. Designs like these that the end-user can customize and rearrange as their needs and moods change are also expanding Coaster’s price range beyond the company’s promotional roots to an average of $1699 and upwards of $3,000 for a six-piece modular configuration.

“Buyers are often surprised to see these kinds of designer looks in our showroom but will be quick to recognize and understand the value we are offering. Buyers will notice that these looks are supported by quality materials construction, from hardwood frames with sinuous springs and pocket coil seating construction for comfort and durability,” Romero said.

“Better still, they know we have them in stock and can deliver the goods quickly from warehouses strategically located across the country.”
