Fusion Designs Makes White Oak Statement at Las Vegas Market

Fusion Designs, a leader in solid wood, domestically produced case goods, will introduce two new statement beds in on-trend white oak at the Winter Las Vegas Market.

The Hargrove Poster and the Wilmington Panel beds will be shown in Fusion Designs’ new permanent showroom at B-670. White oak is a more expensive hardwood than the more commonly utilized red oak and presents a smoother, modern image that appeals to many consumers.

Combining traditional mortise and tenon joinery with tapered posts accented with metal collars and joined by metal stretchers, the new Hargrove Poster Bed creates a clean-lined transitional look rooted in Modern Shaker design. A slender upholstered panel in a neutral performance fabric comprises the suspended headboard and is accented with decorative nail heads. Suggested retail for a four-piece bedroom collection is $10,000.

The Wilmington Panel Bedis crafted in plain sawn white oak and will be shown in “chalk,” which gives it a natural look with a subtle white cast and a coastal vibe.

The Wilmington Bed is available as a panel headboard and footboard design (suggested retail $2,400), or an upholstered headboard and footboard (suggested retail $2,400) covered in a performance fabric, ensuring cleaning, comfort and durability.

The two new bedroom additions will join four existing collections that will also be on display in the showroom.

“We are very excited about the upcoming introduction of our first poster bed in Las Vegas, and to show it in Rustic White Oak, a new finish on an American hardwood species we see coming on strong this year as consumers seek out lighter, more natural finishes,” said Marcus Bontrager, president, and lead furniture designer of Fusion Designs.

“We are also thrilled to welcome Market attendees through the doors of our new permanent showroom, which for the first time gives us the space we require to show our solid wood beds in a way that allows buyers to experience the full visual impact of the designs.

“We see a clear a shift happening in the marketplace as shoppers embrace a more contemporary aesthetic. They are transitioning away from the traditional red and yellow tones of red oak, long the standard, towards a more natural and fresh color palette,” added Bontrager. “Using white oak gives us the opportunity to achieve lighter colors because it has a more relaxed grain pattern.”

The Fusion Designs showroom will officially open at 10:30 a.m., Jan 28, with a ribbon-cutting celebration. All Market attendees are invited to attend.
