At the end of December, there are ‘best of’ lists that let us know what people liked most, what was purchased most, or what trended most for the past twelve months.
But today is the beginning of a new year, not the end. We don’t have to look behind, we get to look forward. Everyone has an idea of what will be trending in the coming year, and after much deliberation and comparison, these ideas are what keep bubbling to the top of the list.
Statement Pieces – That bold piece of furniture that will catch your eye, inspire the rest of the design and shine in the center of your room.
Sculptured Shapes/Multipurpose Furniture – The shape of the furniture will be smooth and flowing and have a variety of uses.
Stylish Performance Fabrics – Performance fabrics have made a statement, and their impact will continue this year with new looks and style
Colors – The Pantone Color of the year is Peach Fuzz, so rich earthy tones seem to be what the trend is leaning toward, but there are also a lot of rich blues and greens among the paint colors of the year, so take your pick!
Breaking Boundaries – The best trend of all for 2024 will be that boundaries are there to be broken. Whatever is there now, can be pushed past and expanded to be bigger and better.
So, however you spin it, this year is wide open. Every new year is a blank canvas full of opportunity. Sure, it comes with its’ history, but by staying optimistic and positive, just maybe this year will be the best one yet.
