Hope to Dream Makes Bedding Donation to Victims of Maui Fire

On Oct. 8, Hope to Dream, a 501c3 non-profit organization, held a fundraising event to benefit victims of the devastating Maui fire that occurred in August 2023 in Hawaii. The fundraiser, held at Topgolf in St. Petersburg, Florida, raised over $33,800 allowing Hope to Dream to donate an additional 130 beds along with 200 bed sets previously committed in partnership with The Salvation Army.

“Hope to Dream is a vital partnership that enables The Salvation Army to provide survivor families with new beds for their children,” stated Victor Leonardi, Emergency Services Director, HIPAC Division, The Salvation Army. “The donation of a new bed and bedding helps a child get through the recovery process by contributing to a safe and clean environment to rest soundly.

Each bed set includes a twin mattress, bed frame, bedding, and pillow. The first 200 bed sets will be delivered in November and will be distributed through The Salvation Army disaster case management system.

“We are honored to have been able to partner with the Salvation Army and host this fundraising event to support the victims of the Maui Fire,” stated Ruthie Bautista, vice president, Hope to Dream.

“Through the generosity and support of our sponsors and community, we can ensure that these children have a place to rest and dream again. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives and contribute to their recovery following this tragic event."

Hope to Dream and The Salvation Army have partnered together since 2019, resulting in the donation of over 2,100 beds throughout the country. Both organizations are committed to supporting communities in times of crisis and ensuring children receive the restful sleep they deserve.

Since 2010, Hope to Dream has been dedicated to the mission to provide every child with a good night’s sleep. The organization believes that every child should have a bed to call their own. Since inception, more than 160,000 children have received a brand-new bed. By providing these essential sleep resources, Hope to Dream aims to set children on the path to a healthier and more productive life.

In addition to ongoing fundraising efforts, every mattress purchased from a participating Ashley retail location helps Hope to Dream fulfill its mission. For more information on Hope to Dream and their efforts, visit www.ahopetodream.com
