Science in Design Launches Designer Certification Program

Science in Design launched a New Designer Certification Program, Neuroaesthetics: The Convergence of Science and Design. This is a science-based certification program for interior designers that was introduced at the closing of the educational event taking place in the Hooker Furnishings Designer Theater on the morning of Oct 14 at High Point Market.

The program was titled, Science in Design: Where are we headed? Science in Design founder Mike Peterson was joined by authors and architects Don Ruggles and Ann Sussman to discuss the future impact science will have on home furnishings and interior design. What role will neuroaesthetics play? What are the new technologies that will guide the design process? Is our need for nature a fundamental design consideration? The program was moderated by Science in Design co-founder Linda Kafka.

At the end of the presentation, the new Certification Program was announced. The curriculum is an on-line course with 24 chapters of video lessons with quizzes for each chapter. Each Module highlights specific topics that are currently or will be affecting the Interior Design Industry as Science in Design becomes more prevalent.

The faculty stands as a collective of professionals and academics, bringing expertise from diverse yet intertwined realms, ranging from neuroaesthetics to biophilia to biometrics. Amid their diverse backgrounds, there exists a unifying passion: a profound commitment to improving human health within the built environment.

Visit the course website for more information or to enroll to earn your Certification Upon Completion of the course.
