Parker House Furniture Announces Succession Plan for VP

As part of its succession plan, industry veteran Chelsy Helton has formally succeeded Roberta Woodard as the Vice President of Product Development for whole-home resource Parker House Furniture. Chelsy will report to Chris Lupo, Parker House’s CEO.

Helton has more than 13 years of experience in various executive roles in the industry. Prior to joining Parker House this past May, Helton served as the Vice President of Product at Dorel Home.

Over the last 12 years Helton has also led product development teams at Lane Home Furnishings, Standard Furniture and Powell, where she was responsible for the entire product assortment as well as developing proprietary products for Top 100 accounts.

“Chelsy was the perfect successor for this position,” said Lupo. “Her wealth of experience, abundance of business relationships and aggressive drive to win is exactly what we were looking for, and it has been wonderful having her on board. We are looking forward to great things as Parker House’s assortment grows and evolves at her direction.”

Roberta Woodard has retired from her position with the company but will continue on as a member of Parker House’s Board of Directors. Hired as the Vice President of Product Development and Merchandising in 2011, Woodard has helped guide the organization through a period of immense growth and advancement over the last decade.

“We are truly honored that Roberta has agreed to join our Board of Directors,” said Lupo. “She has been instrumental in the success we have achieved over the last twelve and a half years, and I am confident that her incomparable industry and company-specific insight will help us continue on this positive trajectory for years to come.”

Visitors and well-wishers are invited to stop in to chat with both Chelsy and Roberta at the October Market. The Parker House showroom is located at 309 S. Elm Street in High Point.
