Funding Secured to Help Revolutionize Interior Design with Boxs

Boxs, a B2B manufacturing platform for interior designers and architects, has secured $1.6 million in seed funding in a round led by Peak XV Partners’ scale-up program Surge. The funding round also saw participation from Titan Capital and Zetwerk founders.

The newly raised funds will be utilized to enhance Boxs’ product offerings and expand its manufacturing capabilities.

While there are numerous software solutions available to assist interior designers in creating designs, there is a significant gap when it comes to bringing these designs to life.

Designers often have to source and coordinate with multiple contractors and carpenters to execute their designs. Additionally, project planning and cost estimating are typically performed using spreadsheets.

Boxs aims to bridge this gap by leveraging its technology to deliver designs as fully assembled products, similar to the purchasing process of products from IKEA. By doing so, Boxs not only simplifies the execution process but also provides a hassle-free experience for designers.

With the new funding, Boxs plans to focus on further building its technology and manufacturing capabilities to offer customers superior results, better profit margins, and shorter timelines.

“For far too long, interior design firms have been stuck with outdated systems and processes, spending a significant amount of time managing workers onsite to ensure quality and timelines are met,” said Vikram Venkatesan, co-founder of Boxs.

“With the new funds, we will be doubling down on building out our tech and manufacturing capabilities to provide our customers a superior, hassle-free experience, better profit margins, and shorter timelines.”

Boxs was founded in May 2022 by Satheesh Ramdass and Vikram Venkatesan, both alumni and friends from the College of Engineering, Guindy. Ramdass brings in valuable tech leadership experience from organizations like Oracle, Microsoft, and Vegrow, while Venkatesan has a strong background in product and engineering teams at D. E. Shaw, Thoughtworks, and Ally.io.
