Morris Furniture Company Builds Participation in 16th Gem City Jam

In partnership with furniture industry leaders and local companies, Morris Furniture Company maximizes participation for the 16th annual Gem City Jam golf outing benefitting Dayton Children’s Hospital.

With the outing over one week away, the company has already secured over $225,000 in additional sponsorships and support for this philanthropic event.

To date, the Gem City Jam golf outing has raised $2,578,577 for the hospital and the event has become a highly sought-after opportunity for local businesses and their furniture and mattress partners. With over 230 golfers, the event offers competitive play, a silent auction, and additional activities to generate donations for this premier hospital.

Last year’s event raised a record-breaking $230,211 in support of the hospital’s mental health services and this year’s event is projected to bring in even more funds to this much needed realm of care with 250 golfers confirmed for the event maxing out the capacity for golf participation.

Jena Pado, vice president, chief development officer for Dayton Children’s Hospital shares her gratitude for the outing stating, “Dayton Children’s Hospital Foundation is proud to partner with Morris for the 16th year of golfing for the children of our region. Alongside the Terrific Women in Giving, we are hosting a record high 250 golfers this year. We are grateful for the support of our community and look forward to this event every year!”

“Our goal is to raise $50,000 more through the activities, donations, silent auction and child life basket auctions during the event,” shared Larry Klaben, chairman for Morris Furniture Company.

“With the support of the local businesses of Dayton, our vendor partners, and the Terrific Women in Giving, we are confident we will greatly exceed last year’s record-breaking event. Thank you to all the sponsors and golfers who have committed to supporting this event each year.”

Although registration for this event has closed, you can still support Dayton Children’s Hospital and the work they do for the children and families of our communities by making a donation.
