Mannarino Collects Design Excellence Awards from ASID NJ

Anna Maria Mannarino of Mannarino Designs, Inc., has collected a variety of 33 awards to date, both regional and national in an array of categories including high-end residential, kitchen and bath, outdoors, healthcare, hospitality, retail and product design, with four wins at the Design Excellence Awards from the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Designers (ASID NJ).

Celebrated at the Clubhouse at Galloping Hills Golf Course in Kenilworth with Emmy award-winning George Oliphant of NBC’s “George to the Rescue,” Mannarino was called to the stage to receive awards not once, twice or three times, but four.

“I am honored to receive these important recognitions and thank all the independent judges and juries,” said Mannarino, who is a past president of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of American Designers (ASID NJ).

She won a coveted Gold for the downtown Charlotte, N.C., condo that was once owned by NFL star Cam Newton.  The clients love color and have an important art collection.  Mannarino obliged in vivid hues that act as a warm counterpoint to the cool industrial city views and provide an ideal backdrop for pieces by Vic Muniz, Kenny Scarf, Eduardo Arranz-Bravo and Jorinde Voigt.

On the product side, her Art Deco-inspired hand-knotted wool and silk carpet design for The Creative Touch, Inc., a to-the-trade resource which specializes in the highest quality traditional and contemporary handcrafted rugs based in Secaucus, N.J., won an Industry Partner Award.

Mannarino was also awarded for a golf simulator room she designed and built in a corner of a client’s basement. She created a country club setting and ideal space for him to practice his swing, or challenge family and friends to a round of golf anytime (and anywhere).

Since the simulator can be programed to play courses from all around the world, the possible locations are endless.  And no bad weather days ever!

Mannarino’s outdoor space won an award as well.  The apartment terrace was to be a modern yet comfortable space for a variety of activities.  Since the interior glass walls of the terrace fully open to the interior space of the apartment, and the exterior wall is fully open on top, it was essential the selection of furniture, lighting and accessories complemented the interior, while all being suitable for inclement weather. The design is punctuated with a pair of red Eero Saarinen Womb chairs and matching ottomans.
