Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally celebrated architect, designer and founding principal /president and owner of Rottet Studio, presents new pieces from her celebrated Rottet Collection.
All are installed as part of The Beauty of Black and White, a salon-style exhibition highlighting art and furniture in her new 3,000 square-foot showroom located at 29 West 30th Street that debuted at ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair).
New furniture designs include the Comice Chair in solid cerused oak and incorporating leather or fur upholstery, available with or without arms. The products are juxtaposed with art and design curated by Rottet, showcasing her passion for graphic black-and-white with prints and paintings from the Loretta Howard Gallery along with framed pieces made from recycled materials by artist and weaver Suzanne Tick.
The latest Rottet Collection introductions also include the Willow Table which incorporates a mechanism that allows the circular table to gracefully collapse into a perfect vertical, making it ideal to display open or store when space is at a premium.
Part of the Float range, the New Canaan Lounge Chair highlights transparent material, while its form literally appears to float. Named for the town where Philip Johnson resided and produced with an acrylic base supported by a stainless steel frame, it’s an ode to the architect’s iconic Glass House.
Other iterations in the Float range include the Montauk Float Chair with acrylic legs as well as the Karl Float Lounge Chair and the Coco Float Chair, both of which have acrylic seats and backs with solid walnut frames.
The Rottet Collection along with The Beauty of Black and White can be viewed at the Rottet Collection Showroom, 29 West 30th St., 6th Floor.
