Innovative Sleep Technologies Introduces Symphony Sleep

Innovative Sleep Technologies is a new company with veteran names and faces in the adjustable base and bedding categories. Late last year, industry experts John Schulte and Sven Knabe combined their many decades of experience in developing and marketing adjustable base technology and products to launch the factory-owned company to fill a niche gap in the category.
“Innovative Sleep Technologies is bringing to the residential market Symphony Sleep, a brand that offers some innovative designs, materials and functionality that we believe provides differentiated features and benefits,” said Schulte, president. “Retailers are looking for true technology to build a quality sleep story around and IST has it.”
IST serves several top retailers of furniture, mattresses and recreational vehicles and supplies. The company is co-owned by Meise Mobel, a world-class manufacturer of adjustable bases and platform beds out of Europe and Asia, which has also been a trusted supplier to the U.S. bedding market for 30 years.
In the bedding segment, there are few more knowledgeable in product development and sourcing than Schulte, who spent 27 years at Glideaway, at one time a leading supplier of adjustable bases. Schulte served as vice president of product development, sourcing and strategic planning before the company merged with Rize.
During his tenure, he was the inventor on six patents; initiated the design, development and sourcing of Glideaway branded adjustable bases; and developed its multi-national sourcing programs.
IST managing partner Knabe is one of the leading experts in German engineering and international sales of motion furniture and bedding technology.
His extensive experience includes top management roles in some of Germany’s most innovative manufacturers for residential and in-home medical care furnishings.
Innovative Sleep Technologies plans to showcase its Symphony Sleep products later this year, including two collections of adjustable bases, a mattress line, platform beds, pillows and sheets.
