Pininfarina Creates Furniture Based on Technology and Innovation

With a unique design approach, a combination of aesthetics and technology, Pininfarina collaborates with some of the most innovative furniture companies. A fluid design, characterized by sinuous and ergonomic lines that wink at great architectures and the latest generation cars; but above all, a smart design that focuses on human interaction with the object and its relationship with space, through the most advanced technical solutions and materials.

Among the latest productions designed by Pininfarina, the Nido chair for Reflex and the restyling of the Orbital table by Calligaris, both presented at the recent edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

2023
Size: 63x56x78 cm

The Nido chair designed by Pininfarina for Reflex is an extremely versatile product that can be placed in different types of environment, from the dining room at home, to a precious meeting room in the office.

Characterized by soft, continuous and airy lines, the wide and enveloping chair develops in a single volume lightened by an elegant cut on the backrest, which is embellished by the polished steel handle. The choice of materials is also accurate: the wooden shell and legs, available in bronze, satin brass or satin titanium finishes, welcome the soft seat, which can be made of nubuck leather or fabric of different colours, for maximum customization.

Orbital, Calligaris
Restyling 2023
Size: 105x165 (265) cm

On the company’s 100th anniversary, Calligaris and Pininfarina presented the restyling of Orbital, a style icon awarded at the Interior Innovation Awards.

This table with an essential and contemporary design is equipped with an ingenious opening mechanism that expands its dimensions with a single fluid movement of the metal arms that position the two extensions simultaneously and at level, keeping an elliptical shape.

The restyling has made the lines even cleaner and lighter; the structure, composed by a perforated column in rigid polyurethane with metal base, is available in new metal, wood or regenerated leather coverings. The top can be customized in extra clear, grey and printed glass, or in ceramic with marble design (white, silk white, black calacatta, emperador) or bronze.

Pininfarina’s headquarters are in Italy, and their design scope includes transportations, industrial design, architecture/interiors and automotive design.
