High Point is 1st NC Certified Autism Destination; Come Hear & Learn

Phillips Collection and HPxD extend an open invitation to the trade and the High Point community to join them when they come together on June 7th from 4:30 – 6:30pm at Phillips Collection’s new 20,000 square foot showroom (135 S. Main St. & Commerce in High Point).

The invitation is to celebrate High Point’s recent designation as the 1st Certified Autism Destination on the east coast. Melody Burnett, president of Visit High Point, who spearheaded this initiative called it “a game changer for the city.”

This distinction is awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) and recognizes the city of High Point’s commitment to making its attractions, hotels, restaurants, and public spaces accessible and welcoming to autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals and their families.

HPxD is excited to lean into this from the design perspective as we know how design can empower humans with special needs, and we are hopeful that our community can create something unique and beneficial that further enhances High Point's commitment to making a difference.

Ms. Burnett will be speaking at the event around 5:15pm. She will share about High Point’s journey to become a Certified Autism Destination, and how she hopes to inform and inspire businesses who also want to support this initiative.

This event is open to all.
