Ashley Furniture Home Opens First Store in Zambia

Special guest Mr. John Mulongoti, permanent secretary for the ministry of commerce, trade and industry; Istem Circiroglu, ambassador for the embassy of the republic of turkey; Mark Marais, vice president of sales for Africa for Ashley Furniture joined Poundstretcher ownership and employees at the event.

Poundstretcher owns two additional Ashley Furniture HomeStores in the surrounding region. This is the first Ashley Furniture HomeStores in Zambia. The Lusaka store will employ approximately 10 people. Ashley Furniture HomeStore, one of the world’s best-selling home furnishing brands, has more than 1,125 locations worldwide.

The store’s interior architectural design includes more than 30 room settings, unique finishes, accessories, and a dedicated Ashley Sleep section. The showroom features complete lifestyle vignettes, down to the final detail of lighting, rugs and wall art.

Product categories include bedroom, dining room, upholstery, leather, occasional tables, home office, youth bedroom, recliners, mattresses and accessories. Technology enhances the environment, incorporating various elements to improve the customer shopping experience.
