In 2006 Room & Board launched the first iteration of its commercial arm, Room & Board Business Interiors, to demonstrate its commitment to the contract market. This new division of curated, contract-grade hospitality and workplace furnishings brought decades of manufacturing experience and dedicated support from a team of experienced project managers to the trade.
In the few short years since its launch, the brand has rapidly grown to work with over 60,000 companies including Rockwell, Google, W Hotels, United Airlines, Seattle Children’s Hospital, WeWork, The New York Public Library, The NBA, The NFL, Twitter, Starbucks, Whole Foods, and more.
Now, with continued commitment to customer service and the environment, the division will operate under the newly rebranded title ‘Room & Board for Business,’ signifying new tailored services for trade, contract professionals, and businesses.
“Collaboration with designers is the heart of our Business Program. As we continue to grow our array of products that meet BIFMA certification standards for the workplace, hospitality, healthcare, and additional commercial settings, we also are streamlining the benefits of our Business Program,” explains Elise Nicpon, director of retail customer experience.
“With the announcement of the newly rebranded Room & Board for Business, enrolling in our program will be even more seamless, providing access to tailored services and a business discount which have been expanded to better serve the trade.”
Introducing over 25 new commercial products and collections thus far in 2023, the Room & Board for Business program offers a host of benefits including volume discounts, furniture spec services, tax exemptions, complimentary warehousing, $99 white-glove delivery, and 5 or 10 year product warranties. The revamped program will now include a 10% discount when a business spends $50,000 or more within a 3-year period.
The Room & Board for Business program also offers Customer Own Material (COM) orders with no minimum quantity including ACT fabrics, free swatches, and samples. Tailored services with a project coordinator are designed specifically for designers, developers, and trade professionals not only to bring forward curated product options, but also to offer dedicated support to manage your project from beginning to end.
As the importance of quoting accurate lead times has grown in the trade industry, Room & Board for Business is able to relay accurate estimates with more than 90% of their products made by U.S. craftspeople and in-stock for faster delivery. Not only does domestic operations allow for quick shipping, but it also reduces international travel emissions.
Dedicated to designing and sourcing sustainably, the brand just released their first Impact Report that outlines the company's sustainability strategy, materials matrix, DEI efforts, and more.
Room & Board, and the business commercial arm, aim to have 100% sustainably sourced wood, 100% recyclable packaging, and divert 70% of landfill waste, all by 2025.
The Impact Report letter from Bruce Champaeu, president & COO states “Over the last year we’ve made big strides on our initial goal, like sustainably sourcing 85% of our wood, hitting 70% renewable electricity use in our stores and operations, and contributing 2% of profits to nonprofits across the country. We believe these efforts are part of being a good corporate citizen and we have the responsibility to do even more.”
