Donzella Presents Mid-Century Modern Exhibition in NYC

Donzella is a curated gallery space that has specialized in post-war design since its inception in the early 1990s. Largely comprised of works by Italian and American architects, industrial designers, and interior designers, Paul Donzella's catalog of period furniture and lighting sets exceptional standards of form, quality, and rarity.

These same criteria inform an expanded program of contemporary works by artists from France, Italy, and the United States, with many pieces created exclusively for the gallery.

From May 2 – June 16, the Donzella Project Space in New York City, 200 Lexington Ave, No. 1509, will present FLUID: Movement in Mid-Century Design.

FLUID is an exhibition of furniture and lighting by European and American designers that carved out striking new directions in Mid-Century Modern design. Moving away from the rigidity of mass-produced furniture, these designers introduced a new fluidity of line and form that changed not only the look of furniture, but also how we look at it.

Highlighting the three post-war decades, roughly 1945-1975, FLUID - Movement in Mid-Century Design features an array of designs that elegantly embody these changes, including pieces by Osvaldo Borsani, Paolo Buffa, Poul Kjaerholm, Vladimir Kagan, and Philip & Kelvin LaVerne.
