Simply Amish Completes Addition for Operations, Expands Production

Simply Amish, manufacturer of bench made hardwood furniture, has recently completed the addition of 20,000 square feet to their existing 110,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility.

The company has moved their finishing operations into the new addition, which has doubled the space they had before for finishing. The original finishing area has been repurposed to make room for more production, and the company is adding more craftsmen as well.

In order to supply fresh air makeup for the new finishing area, Simply Amish decided to utilize a Geothermal Air Makeup system. This innovative system works by drawing air through 300-foot pipes buried 7 feet underground. By the time the air enters the building, it has been naturally heated in the winter and cooled in the summer to ground temperature, and it has also been dehumidified during the process.

During the winter months, the company will only need to heat the air from ground temperature (around 50 degrees) to the ideal room temperature, using very little energy in the process by utilizing natural gas boilers.

Moreover, this new system will provide a more comfortable working environment for the finishing staff during the summer since it will bring in cool, dry air instead of the high humidity, hot air that the staff is used to dealing with during several months of the summer.

"We are excited about this new addition to our facility and the benefits it will bring to our finishing operations," said Simply Amish's owner, Kevin Kauffman. "The Geothermal Air Makeup system is a great example of our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, and it is also a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide a comfortable and healthy work environment for our employees.”

Simply Amish shows in High Point at 200 North Hamilton Street, North Ct 103.
