Bradington-Young Plans Dual Approach to Intros at Spring HPMKT

Upscale motion and stationary upholstery specialist, Bradington-Young, is planning a dual-pronged approach to its new introductions for the Spring 2023 High Point Market.

Several new frames will be merchandised in both transitional as well as traditional settings, showcasing the company’s custom order capabilities of more than 175 leathers and 200 performance fabrics.

“We’re introducing several new groups this Market that could be characterized ‘on the surface’ as clearly traditional or clearly transitional in styling,” said Cheryl Johnston, vice president of merchandising and product development for Bradington-Young.

“By covering them with different textile combinations from our broad assortment of leathers and performance fabrics, they take on very different personalities and can transcend style categories.”

“Our retail partners can use this strategy with their customers by flooring a selection of traditional frames with more transitional covers, and vice-versa,” she added. “Today’s consumer doesn’t necessarily gravitate to one style category.”

“In fact, we are seeing a rise in ‘individuality’ in design, with a mixing of styles and consumers opting for personal preferences versus trying to stay within the lines of one specific category.”

“Our products can easily transition into a variety of settings,” Johnston added. “So rather than ‘pigeon-hole’ a new frame as one style or another from the start, this strategy helps our retail and interior design partners visualize the products in ‘the best of both worlds.’”

The company will unveil three new sofa groups this Market – two stationary and one motion – along with two swivel chairs, two club chairs and a new executive office chair.

Highlights include:

~  Lennon Stationary Group: Headlining the entryway of the showroom, the Lennon sofa has a menswear feel with its inset nail head detailing and modified roll arm that gently sweeps up to the back rail.

~  Brooklyn Stationary Group: Also making a first impression in the entry room, Brooklyn is characterized by its tall, rounded, tear drop-shaped arms. Taking design cues from the classic Chesterfield sofa style – yet modernized with a slimmer profile and clean lines – the silhouette is also covered in two options, showcasing its flexibility to transcend design styles.

~  Benson Motion Group: Expanding on the recent launch of several motion groups that include the functionality of larger scale motion pieces with a more refined footprint, the Benson features an updated traditional-style arm. The three-over-three silhouette also includes a compact reclining mechanism that allows for a 76-inch sofa length, which is ideal for smaller spaces.

~  Fredrickson Accent and Swivel Chairs: Prominently featured in the showroom in a chat pod, the Frederickson is available in both a stationary accent chair as well as a swivel chair. Characterized by its distinctive nail head detailing on the outback of the chair that resembles a “backbone,” the chat pod will also feature a “best of both worlds” storyline.

Bradington-Young, a division of Hooker Furnishings, will showcase the new introductions at the Spring 2023 High Point Market in its newly opened showroom on the third floor of Showplace.

The company is also planning a social event to mark the launch of the new products and new space:

Hooker Furnishings Showplace Grand Opening Party:

Join Hooker Furnishings on April 22nd from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s brand-new flagship showroom located on Floor 3 of Showplace. An evening to remember, enjoy specialty cocktails and refreshments on the new outdoor patio as well as live music from the legendary band, LIQUID PLEASURE.
