Bob’s Discount Furniture Executive VP Honored for Top Women in Retail

Bob’s Discount Furniture, an omni-channel furniture retailers, is proud to announce that Women in Retail Leadership Circle (WIRLC) has recognized Chief Merchandising Officer and Executive Vice President Carol Glaser as an honoree for its 2023 Top Women in Retail report.

The WIRLC report features powerful female executives who have made a positive impact in the retail industry through their tenacity, vulnerability, authenticity and hard work. The 13th edition of the report focuses exclusively on C-suite leaders and company founders.

These women executives are leading the charge for the next generation of female leaders — and leading their individual companies to success as well.

“Carol is an accomplished executive with a track record of success in the furniture and home goods industries,” said Bill Barton, president and CEO of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “She has a great talent for understanding furniture to make it more enjoyable, cozy, and creative.”

“Carol led her team through unprecedented obstacles during the COVID-19 pandemic, including manufacturing closures and supply chain restrictions, with great success, and we congratulate her on this achievement.”

As Chief Merchandising Officer, Ms. Glaser oversees all decisions related to Bob’s product assortment. Her responsibilities run the gamut from setting strategy to sourcing to sell-through. Ms. Glaser and her team of 20-plus merchants scour the world to spot trends and opportunities.

They then utilize their strong supplier relationships to develop and bring to market the best furniture values to Bob’s Discount Furniture’s over 160 brick and mortar locations as well as mybobs.com.

WIRLC honorees were chosen by the organization’s members, partners and editorial staff based on their position, scope of responsibility, accomplishments and achievements, and involvement in the retail industry.

This year’s honorees include Maureen Kelly, Founder and CEO, Tarte Cosmetics; Tricia Smith, Global CEO, Anthropologie; Kathy Reardon, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, Dollar General; Shawn Outler, Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, Macy’s; Prama Bhatt, Chief Digital Officer, Ulta Beauty; among many others.

“I’m thrilled to be recognized in Women in Retail Leadership Circle’s 13th annual report,” said Ms. Glaser. “And I am honored to be in the company of the nation’s esteemed female executives in retail.”

In addition to the publication of the 13th Annual Report, honorees will be acknowledged at the organization’s ninth annual Women in Retail Leadership Summit, taking place April 17-19 at the Biltmore Arizona in Phoenix. The Summit was created to enable executive women at retail companies to network, learn from each other, and improve business processes.
