MAOMI Receives German Design Award for Wall Installation

MAOMI is the proud recipient of the German Design Award for their wall installation, HOOKS.

MAOMI is a label for space, composition and design. They develop furniture and home accessories and have them produced - locally and globally. Their products and projects are characterized by a functional simplicity which offers room for creativity.

The design is led by body and mind - using materials that not only look good, but also feel good in products and projects. Natural materials are used, and traditional crafting techniques are relied upon to produce fair as well as ecologically and socially sustainable pieces.

The products are always completely functional and never exclusively decorative. The work is subtle and yet confidently radiates orientation towards quality, details and durability. The classic designs go further.

Emmanuel Boos, a great porcelain artist and good friend of MAOMI, made a significant contribution in terms of the idea and design of the wall installation HOOKS with his expertise in porcelain and ceramics.

In 2015, MAOMI founder and Creative Directo, Dr. Uta Meeder took the path had the courage to start MAOMI. She was told by everyone that the market for interior products was completely overcrowded. In the beginning, it made everyone there incredibly happy every time their designs were liked and bought.

The world's best interior designers like Vincent van Duysen, Huyghe Decoratie, Stéphane Parmentier and Marc-Ludolf von Schmarsow work with MAOMI products, and they are listed in stores like The Webster in Miami and L.A and Dahlgren Duck in Dallas.

The very best hotels and restaurants like The Dolder Grand in Zurich, Mühle Schluchsee, Opus V in Mannheim and Baret, Berlin also have their products. MAOMI is consistently recognized for design at the trade shows they attend, and the Design Award of the State of Baden-Württemberg was received in 2020.

Their work has now been crowned by the German Design Award.

MAOMI continues to make the design landscape in Germany a bit more diverse and at the same time supported the preservation of traditional handcraft skills.
