Steger’s Furniture in Pekin announces the addition of a new 50,000 square foot furniture and mattress location in Peoria, IL. Estimated grand opening of the new store will be in the Summer of 2023. The family-owned business has maintained the reputation of a best-in-class home furnishings retail store and design firm for the past 86 years.
Bryan Steger, 4th generation and VP of operations, stated “We are beyond excited to be opening a second location in Peoria. We will be doing major renovations to the inside and outside of the building, with all new flooring and a new exterior to offer an exciting shopping experience.”
“Once those renovations are complete, we can’t wait to offer Peoria the same quality brand name furniture and family-owned customer service that we have been providing for 86 years.”
The new 50,000 square foot showroom located at 8727 N. Knoxville will complement the home furnishings assortment of the current location in Pekin while adding in some updated features.
“We see the new Peoria store as an extension of our current location.” Noted Abbey Tilstra, 4th generation and VP of merchandising. “There will be similar product offerings and the same great service. We are excited to offer a large mattress footprint, outlet center, and an all-new custom design center.”
The new location will help bring over 20 jobs to the local community and will ensure that the roots of the company stay in the Pekin and Peoria region for years to come. A commitment that doesn’t go unnoticed to 3rd generation owner, Jack Steger.
“I am proud to have raised my family in this community and to have welcomed Abbey and Bryan into the business. Family businesses and locally owned operations are at the heart of what makes a community grow and we are excited to bring that growth to Peoria.”
Lou Steger, 94-year-old, and 2nd generation owner says, “I’m proud to see the legacy continue in Peoria and I am looking forward to the grand opening this summer.”
