Surya Releases Specialty Catalog with Eco-Friendly Rug Collection

The first specialty catalog of its kind, Surya’s 2023 Performance Catalog highlights 35 handmade eco-friendly rug collections. Each performance rug is designed for easy care and to withstand everyday use.
Designs range from subtle organic solids in neutral palettes to bold colorful patterns with a variety of textures, in a variety of styles and constructions.
Surya’s performance rugs are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) yarn. PET yarn is derived from post-consumer plastic bottles through an innovative melting and spinning process. It is a 100% sustainable material that offers a luxurious look and feel.
PET yarn rugs have performance attributes including stain and weather resistance, making them functional for both indoor and outdoor use.
“At Surya, we care deeply about the environment and making our rugs from PET yarn is an innovative, sustainable method of reducing the impact of plastic bottles on the environment,” said Satya Tiwari, president of Surya.
Tiwari added, “Consumers today are seeking a perfect balance between beauty and utility. In anticipation of the increasing demand, we have been steadily building our performance rug assortment. I am proud to share that we now offer the largest selection of performance rugs in the industry.”
Samples are available for all of Surya’s performance rugs, and most designs are ready to ship and available in large and custom sizes to accommodate a range of design projects.
