Interior Design Pledge Plays An Important Role for A Better World

According to an article in Metropolis Magazine, on Nov. 13, NEWH, the Hospitality Industry Network, announced that it is joining the Interior Design Pledge for Positive Impact. This pledge was created by ASID, IIDA, IDC, and Metropolis to provide a way for design professionals to make a positive impact in three areas: Design for Climate, Design for Health, and Design for Equity.

During a panel at the annual Boutique Design New York (BDNY) trade show titled “Design for Positive Impact,” which was moderated by Metropolis editor in chief, Avinash Rajagopal, they announced the news.

“Interior design professionals create the spaces where people live, work, heal, learn, socialize, and play. Designers’ decisions also impact the interior design industry comprised of designers, manufacturers, dealers, contractors, consultants, tradespeople, artisans, and workers around the world,” to quote the Metropolis Editors.

These designers play an important role in helping to take steps to avoid the climate crisis. Also, supporting health and wealth are important ways that these design professionals are in a unique position to improve lives everywhere people live and work.

Everyone on the planet has an obligation to future generations to work for a better world.

Metropolis invites designers from all over to get more information and sign the Interior Design Pledge for Positive Impact at metropolismag.com/interior-design-pledge.
