Steinhafels Expands into Chicago Market with Distribution Center in Fall 2023

Steinhafels announced an expansion into the Chicago/Illinois market with plans to open a Distribution Center in Bolingbrook and its 4th and 5th Chicagoland stores in Harwood Heights and Orland Park, IL.
“Building upon the success of our stores in Vernon Hills, Crystal Lake and Downers Grove has been a strategic goal. 2022 saw the additions of stores in Green Bay and Downers Grove. We successfully opened both of these locations and are incredibly happy with the results,” said Steinhafels President Andrew Steinhafel.
“Adding a Steinhafels distribution center and new furniture and mattress stores in Harwood Heights and Orland Park will continue our goal to be the market leader in furniture and mattresses in Illinois.”
Steinhafels Bolingbrook Distribution center will be a modern, 110,000 square foot facility that will serve as Steinhafels merchandise pick-up location for Chicagoland stores, promising a pick-up that will be fast and easy for those customers. The Bolingbrook Distribution Center will be the launch point for Chicagoland delivery stops, providing enhanced speed and availability to delivery service.
“This new distribution center will expand us further into Illinois, enhancing our reach, speed, and availability for all of our stores, while helping us control operational expenses to serve our Illinois customers,” added Steinhafels VP of operations, John Haas.
Steinhafels anticipates adding up to 50 new associates and will be announcing leadership for the Bolingbrook operation soon. The current plan is to open the new facility in the Fall of 2023.
