Fusion Designs Expands Quick Ship Portfolio for Shipping in 10 Business Days

Domestic furniture manufacturer Fusion Designs is expanding its Essentials quick ship program in its showroom at the Fall High Point Market (Radio Building Floor 4). with a new bedroom collection that enables dealers to deliver American-made, solid wood furniture that can be finished in a choice of any color in 10 business days or less.

The new solid-wood, American made bedroom collection can be finished and delivered in 10 business days or less. The Essentials program encompasses a selection of bedroom and dining room collections, in-stock, and ready to be custom finished in any of 35 colors, as well as two-tone and distressed. A five-piece group including dresser, mirror, queen bed and three-drawer nightstand retails for $7,000.

“In many cases the differentiator for our dealers is not only the speed, but the ability to customize finish, because even among other domestic suppliers that offer quick ship programs, whether 21 days or four weeks, ‘in-stock for fast delivery’ usually translates to what you see is what you get,” said Marcus Bontrager, president of Fusion Designs.

“With Essentials, dealers consistently tell us they enjoy higher tickets and improved margins, because customers are willing to pay more to get what they want quickly.”

“We believe domestic furniture manufacturers continue to offer a distinct advantage to retailers across the industry, just as we have throughout the supply chain disruptions that plagued the industry during the past two years,” said Bontrager, who grew up in the family business, which he purchased along with his brother in 2016.

He has worked to integrate Fusion’s reputation for old-world values and construction techniques with the efficiency of cellular manufacturing and a focus on building a portfolio of transitional, contemporary, and mid-century modern collections as appropriate for lifestyles on either coast as they are middle America.

“As a millennial myself, I know how important it is to keep a close eye on trends that influence consumers in my age group,” Bontrager said. “And while I have continuously worked to buck any perceptions that pigeon-hole the domestic wood category as limited to traditional styles, it is clear that traditional style is making a comeback among younger consumers now. So, this Market, we are once again doing the unexpected and introducing a traditional bedroom group.”
