Common Thread for the Cure Hosts Mixer at High Point Market for All Attendees

The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, will host its first-ever High Point Market Mixer to raise awareness in the furnishings and design industries of the battle against breast cancer. The event will take place at The Point, on Commerce Avenue, one block from the transportation terminal in High Point on Oct. 22 from 5-7 p.m.
High Point Market Authority with sponsor, Crypton, manufacturer of performance fabrics, will provide an opportunity to create awareness and educate Market attendees about the mission of the Common Thread for the Cure Foundation as well as its Helping Hand Grants program, which offers financial assistance to furnishing and design industry breast cancer patients through confidential grants.
The mixer is open to all registered High Point market attendees and will include lite bites, beer, wine, and special door prizes throughout the event. Guests will be able to talk with supporters and survivors including grant recipient and board member Laura Holland, vice president of marketing at Hickory Chair, as well as other members of the board of directors.

Mayer continued, “We’re also extremely grateful to Crypton who generously offered to sponsor the event. It’s an amazing opportunity to unite the furnishings and design industries to create awareness about what the Common Thread for the Cure Foundation is all about and to let folks know that the Foundation can provide financial relief through its Helping Hand Grants to those in the industry who are fighting breast cancer.”
The purpose of a Helping Hand Grant is to aid breast cancer survivors and their families in areas where financial assistance is needed, such as a mortgage or car payment, property taxes, a child’s college tuition, transportation costs, and more. Grants are made available every year to approved applicants. The process is completely confidential.
To date, the Foundation has raised over one million dollars and has offered financial assistance to more than 300 individuals throughout North America.
