Two Furniture Companies Recall Bunk Beds for Entrapment Hazards

Two furniture companies have recalled bunk beds and ladders for entrapment issues with the bed’s ladders and their frames.
Hillsdale Furniture LLC, of Louisville, Ky., are recalling their Flynn Twin Full Bunk Beds and Canyon Furniture Company, of Seffner, Fla., are recalling their ladders. Both companies will be replacing the items that pose the hazard. There have been no incidents or injuries reported because of the issues with these products.
The Hillsdale Furniture recall involves the Flynn Twin Full Bunk Beds with Ladder sold only at Value City Furniture and American Signature Furniture Stores from May 2019 through April 2022 for about $1,200. The space between the second rung of the bed’s ladder and the lower bunk frame is wider than 3.5 inches, posing an entrapment hazard to children, when the mattress is removed.
The beds are white and gray and made of pine wood. This recall covers bunk beds with a ladder that extends fully to the floor and a lower bed. Only bunk beds with ladders are part of this recall. The model numbers are 2184-7080B, 2311-4080B, 2184-7080BASI and 2311-4080BASI.
Hillsdale is contacting all known purchasers directly and providing a replacement ladder with repair instructions to all known consumers.
The Canyon Furniture recall involves the ladders sold as part of a furniture set, including Cottage Colors and Canyon Bunk Beds sold exclusively at Rooms to Go from April 2019 through March 2022. The ladders were sold independently for about $90 and as part of bunk bed sets for between $1,400 and $2,300. This recall includes only ladders sold with the Canyon Lake and Cottage Colors bunk bed configurations with a ladder that include a desk- or dresser-top hutch.
Recalled ladders are the Canyon Lake Java ladder, SKU 35834008, the Ash gray ladder, SKU 35834010, the Cottage Colors white ladder, SKU 36428008, black ladder SKU 36428010, and gray ladder SKU 36428022.
Rooms to Go is contacting all known purchasers. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ladders and contact Rooms to Go for a free replacement ladder.
