IMC Slates Five Designer-Oriented Tours at October Market

International Market Centers has scheduled five live tours for designers and retailers during next month’s Fall Market, including a new tour focused on lighting that will be led by Chris Goddard of HGTV’s Design Star: Next Gen series.
The tours, all of them under the DesignOnHPMKT by IMC banner, offer designers and retailers real time insights on the latest trends, and help buyers narrow down their product selections, according to IMC officials.
“The depth and breadth of the new product introductions by exhibitors in IMC’s 17 High Point properties can be both invigorating and overwhelming for buyers,” said Dorothy Belshaw IMC executive vice president, chief customer and marketing officer. “The DesignOnHPMKT by IMC tours empower buyers by introducing them to must-see destinations, brands and products as they source for the next season.”
New for the Fall 2022 High Point Market is a tour of highlights from IMC’s nearly 170 lighting resources led by Goddard, founder of Goddard Design Group in Springdale, Ark. and star of HGTV's Design Star: Next Gen. On the 90-minute tour, Goddard will share best practices for choosing and installing fixtures and teach about LED color and temperature, smart apps and more. “Lighting Highlights Tour with Chris Goddard” is presented in partnership with Furniture, Lighting & Décor on Sunday, October 23, 2:30-4 p.m.
The popular TrendWatch tour returns for Fall 2022 with an exploration of three all new trends from the proprietary report: Entwine, an homage to casual comfort, quiet moments and favorite spaces; Midnight, a showcase of deep and moody hues, earthy neutrals, burnished metals, stone accents and organic shapes; and Modernity, the latest expression of pastels as go-to hues for confident, playful interiors.
Home furnishings trend forecaster, creative director and TrendWatch curator Julie Smith Vincenti of Nine Muses Media leads a 90-minute tour of themed trend displays at the Suites at Market Square, the Showplace Walkway and the International Home Furnishings Center Green Lobby plus multiple points in between. “TrendWatch Tour” is on Monday, October 24, 2:30-4 p.m.
Three Suite Spot tours identify the new products that will influence consumer demand through intimate one-hour designer-guided tours of the largest temporary exhibits at High Point Market in the three-floor Suites at Market Square.
Glen Peloso, international TV personality, design writer and founder of Glen Peloso Design in Toronto shares his favorite finds on Saturday, October 22, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Christian Daw, architectural designer and founder of Christian Daw Design in Washington D.C. takes buyers to his must-see products and exhibitors on Sunday, October 23, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Veronica Solomon, business coach, mentor and founder and lead designer of Casa Vilora Interiors in Houston identifies products that are “eclectic, classic, bold, whimsical and timeless” – her design point of view – on Monday, October 24, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
