Walker’s Delivers New Furniture to Las Vegas-area Military Veterans
Las Vegas retailer Walker Furniture has selected a dozen military veterans as recipients of new furniture -- some of it specialized – as part of its eighth annual “Help for Heroes” program.
The retailer will deliver items such as adjustable beds, motion sofas, recliners and lift chairs, depending on the specific needs of each recipient.
“The Help for Heroes’ program was created by Walker Furniture to help make day-to-day living a little easier for an often-overlooked segment of our community,” said Larry Alterwitz, Walker Furniture CEO and owner.
This year’s recipients were selected from letters written by family, friends and community partners and reviewed by Commander Robert Bencsko and American Legion Paradise Post 149. They were honored at a recent luncheon at the North Las Vegas Elks Lodge.
