Four Female Presidents to Headline WithIt Fall Educational Breakfast
Four female presidents and CEOs from the home furnishings industry will headline the fall educational breakfast of WithIt, the women’s leadership development group.
Titled “Broken Ceilings: Lessons From the Top,” the event will take place during the fall High Point Market on Sunday, Oct. 23. It begins at 7:30 a.m. in the International Ballroom of the International Home Furnishings Center.
Caroline Hipple, president of Norwalk Furniture, will moderate a panel discussion that also includes Melinda Whittington, president and CEO of La-Z-Boy; Laurie Tokarz, president of Restonic; and Marie Mullen, president of Hubbardon Forge.
“WithIt is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and the honor of hosting a panel of women of such stature in our industry confirms the importance of the mission of our organization,” said WithIt’s executive director, Amy Van Dorp. “The panelists represent many different areas within the home and furnishings industry. So, whether you’re an interior designer, an entrepreneur, retailer, or you’re in the corporate world, we promise, you will be engaged, educated and inspired.”
The panelists will discuss topics such as: visionary leadership; leadership principles; core values around leadership; and being a change agent.
“I’m thrilled to sit down with these incredible women to discuss our journeys on the way to the top of our companies and what we’ve learned along the way,” said Hipple. “We want to inspire the next generation of leaders to reach higher than they dreamed they could.”
In addition to presenting sponsor Myriad Software, supporting sponsors of the education breakfast include Durham Furniture and AICO.
Individual tickets are for $25 for WithIt members and $35 for non-members. Table sponsorships, which include eights tickets, also are available. Contact Cathy Smith, WithIt’s Development Director at firstname.lastname@example.org for information about sponsoring a table.
