HOM Furniture’s 32nd annual HOM Open Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $300,000 in funds to support the local organization Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge (MNATC) and other charities in HOM Furniture showroom communities.
More than 140 participants gathered on July 14, 2022, at Majestic Oaks Golf Course, Signature Course, in Ham Lake, Minnesota, to enjoy the event.
The golf tournament is a yearly culmination of the long-standing partnership between HOM Furniture and MNATC, a faith based recovery program for people of all ages struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. MNATC has Minnesota campuses in the Twin Cities, Brainerd, Duluth and Rochester.
Pastor Rich Scherber, former CEO and executive director of MNATC, and wife Lynnette Scherber attended this year’s tournament and program, along with Tom Truszinski, new CEO and executive director. It was also attended by HOM Furniture executives, employees, vendors, family and friends.
“HOM Furniture is extremely proud to support MNATC through the annual golf tournament. It has become part of our company culture and a day that we look forward to throughout the entire year,” said Rod Johansen, HOM Furniture president and CEO. “After recent scaled-down events due to the Covid pandemic, we were happy to return in a fuller capacity and thankful for the beautiful summer weather, time to connect in-person with our HOM family and—most importantly—a successful event that raised important funds for charity. It was a great day of golf and community!”
The charity golf tournament has grown over the years, from a small golf tournament into a well-known industry event featuring a full day of entertainment and strong community support. Many of HOM Furniture’s industry partners play an important part of raising the money by participating in sponsorships in and around the event.
With the addition of the funds raised during the 2022 event, the charity golf tournament has now raised more than $5.2 million for local charities.
