WithIt, the women’s leadership development network for the home and furnishings industries, has received a $40,000 donation to its Scholarship Foundation from Heritage Home Group Charitable Trust.
The scholarship supports students with majors which apply to the home industries: accessory design, architectural design, forestry, furniture design, industrial design, textile design, graphic design, Interior architecture, marketing with a design or furniture minor. WithIt annually grants scholarships to students and professional women in the industry.
“We greatly appreciate the donation from HHG’s Charitable Trust. The increased amount this year allows us to expand the number of women receiving scholarships. We hope the industry will share this opportunity with their contacts in education,” says Paris Gholston, the VP of Scholarship for WithIt. Gholston is the customer relations and compliance coordinator for the Mattress Recycling Council.
WithIt plans to award 10-15 scholarships to students the year. The deadline for the 2022 scholarship applications is March 1, 2022. More information about applying for scholarships can be found at https://www.withit.org/ScholarshipApplication.asp
Professional women in the home and furnishings industry who are pursuing a degree, certificate or professional certification during 2022 can apply for a scholarship at any time during the year. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis.
Along with a tuition scholarship, students receive an all-expense paid trip to WithIt’s annual professional conference which affords them the opportunity to meet and network with women from the industry and build upon skills they can use in their pursuit of a career.
WithIt’s Scholarship Foundation (501-C3), founded in 1998, has awarded over $187,000 in tuition scholarships to eighty qualified young women and men in universities across the U.S. who are pursuing design, marketing and business majors that impact the home and furnishings industries. Ninety-eight percent of scholarship recipients who have graduated are working in the industry.
