Spring Air Announces New Licensing Agreement with Everton Mattress Factory

Expanding its reach into seven western states, bedding manufacturer Spring Air International has signed a licensing agreement with Idaho-based Everton Mattress Factory to produce its family of brands in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana.

With the signing of the Everton agreement, there are only five Spring Air territories that remain available for licensing in the United States. Those states are Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Indiana and Florida.

“We are very excited about the addition of Everton Mattress, which fills an important gap in our domestic licensee geographic footprint with a partner who will become an integral part of our network,” said Nick Bates, president of Spring Air International. “Everton will add strength to our network and open the door to a number of well-established furniture and bedding retailers that are well-suited to sell the Spring Air brand in the Pacific Northwest and Western regions. Not only will the relationship help to build even more name recognition for our brand, but it will also further expand our resources and help boost Spring Air’s continued growth domestically.” Bates added, “We now have all but five states covered with 11 licensees, and our end goal is to find independent factories to fill those gaps.”

“Having served within this industry for more than 30 years in various positions, I have enjoyed the pleasure of working with some of the best brands and people in the industry. We are both production and retail focused, which can be a strength as well as a weakness, but it reinforces our vision of what a successful bedding brand can be,” said Chris Sanders, president of Everton Mattress Factory. “We believe the Spring Air brand aligns with our culture and values. We like the more retail focused approach and the fact that the company is not afraid to separate from traditional brand strategies and fosters a collaborative approach between an excellent group of factory members. Together with Spring Air our position in the marketplace will become even stronger as we continue to provide outstanding quality and service.”

Everton Mattress Factory began as a small bedding company in Logan, Utah in 1924. In the 1930s the company moved into a 30,000-square-foot facility in Twin Falls, Idaho. Continued growth prompted another move in 2003, when the company relocated to Filer, Idaho and setup operations in an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing and storage facility. In 2007 Everton Mattress Factory began mattress production for many private label lines.

Chris Sanders joined the company in 1994 and held many positions during his tenure including his current position as president. In 2014 Sanders purchased the factory from the Everton family. Since then, the company has heavily reinvested in new equipment to improve the quality of its products. In 2017 Sanders purchased Bodily’s Furniture and Mattress, a 30-year customer of Everton Mattress. In 2021, Sanders acquired the Everton Mattress & Furniture retail store located in Twin Falls. Today, Sanders runs these companies with his wife and children.
