Hooker Furnishings Promotes Sheila Mullins to HMI Group Controller

Hooker Furnishings, one of the nation’s leading home furnishings resources for case goods, leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture, has promoted Sheila Mullins to vice president and group controller of HMI Group.

In her new position, Mullins will be responsible for managing and directing financial planning and budget management for the company as well as providing support to all HMI Group presidents. She will also supervise the daily operations of the finance department, including financial reporting, accounts payable and payroll.

Mullins will continue to report to Earl Armstrong, Hooker Furnishings’ corporate controller and secretary, and work out of the company’s High Point, North Carolina office.

“Sheila has been an integral part of the HMI Group’s growth for more than a decade. She has made tremendous contributions and we are excited to see her progress and continue to point our team’s financial leadership in a positive direction,” said Armstrong.

Mullins began her career with the company in 2008 as the director of accounting and assistant division controller. In 2018, she was promoted to HMI division controller where she was responsible for the management of the company’s financial activities, transactions and human resources and processes.
