Fonts, a veteran executive of more than 15 years with AAC, now assumes the leadership of the company’s marketing department in addition to his current role as head of AAC’s international sales effort. He reports to Hank Little, president of AAC.
Before this appointment, Fonts was vice president of international sales, managing AAC’s international sales and formulating campaigns to achieve global sales and profit goals. He will continue in this role, designing and directing sales and marketing programs and setting short- and long-term sales strategies. He also monitors progress reports, customer needs, and the pricing of products and services.
“Eugenio is a valued member of our executive team, and the addition of the responsibilities over the marketing function is our way of recognizing the contributions he has made and will make to the success of our business,” Little said. “Of particular importance is his knowledge of four languages (English, German, Portuguese and Spanish) and his ability to adapt our sales programs to many different cultures throughout the world. We are grateful for what Eugenio has already brought to our business and look forward to the additional value he’ll bring to our international customer base.”
Fonts began his AAC career in 2006 as an international sales executive, responsible for designing and recommending sales and marketing programs and setting short- and long-term sales strategies. In 2014 he was promoted to director of international sales, managing and directing the global sales force, and became vice president of international sales in 2016.
Fonts’ career in the apparel manufacturing and equipment industry began in 1977 at Rori International, a leading producer of men’s apparel based in Caracas, Venezuela. He served as head mechanic, chief technician, maintenance manager, and production assistance executive. In 1995, he joined Durkopp Adler of Bielefeld, Germany, where he held the positions of sales consultant, sales manager, business development manager, and product manager for the manufacturer of Industrial Sewing Equipment.
“Throughout my career, I have sought out dynamic companies where I could succeed using my interpersonal, strategic, and creative skills. Atlanta Attachment is such an innovative organization, and my time with the company has been rewarding,” Fonts said. “As I assume my new responsibilities, I look forward to the period ahead, as we move to be an even stronger international player in the sewing equipment industry.”
After his military school in Venezuela, Fonts was a graduate of Centro de Estudios Tecno Electronico in Caracas. He earned a certificate as an electronic technician in microprocessors and microcomputers. He moved to Germany and earned a certificate as an advanced machinery technician specialist from Handwerkskammer Ostwesfale-Lippe in Bielefeld. He also holds a certification as an international sewing machine mechanic from Carl-Severing Schulen, also in Bielefeld. He lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with his family.
