BIA West Opens New Facility, Eclipse Launches Eastman House Collection

Retail partners, manufacturers, suppliers and industry leaders will attend the opening of Bedding Industries of America West’s new 90,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and showroom at 1798 Linden Ave. in Rialto, California.

The grand opening event will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a cocktail reception and factory tours.

In addition to the grand opening, Eclipse International will launch a new Eastman House collection that will be offered initially to California retailers. The 20-model lineup features alternative sustainable filling materials and was designed specifically to meet the needs of southern California retailers. The new Eastman House models will feature names inspired by California including Catalina, Belair, and Malibu. The line will retail at popular to premium price points.

“This is an exciting time for our company as we continue to expand our reach across the country as well as making it easier for our international customers and licensees to visit us on the west coast,” said Stuart Carlitz, president and chief executive of Bedding Industries of American and Eclipse International. “I’m thankful to our leadership team and employees for the work in getting this plant ready and operational, as well as to the local and state government officials who have welcomed us into the community.”

The multi-million-dollar facility includes state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment from Leggett & Platt’s Global Systems Group to showcase the latest in manufacturing innovation and design for the industry.  The plant will manufacture mattresses under Eclipse, Saatva, Eastman House, Millbrook Beds, Natural Dreams Pure Talalay, as well as other brands from the company’s portfolio. The added capacity will enable the company to meet the growing needs of both existing and new customers.

“Southern California where the new plant is located has a rich history in bedding manufacturing, so there is an experienced work force that we have been able to tap into over the last few months as we prepared to open the factory,” said Michael Moore, director of sales, licensing and new business development at BIA West. “We are excited to open the showroom so that our dealers on the west coast can select from our vast collection of our premium brands.”
