Mattress manufacturer Eclipse International has expanded its licensee footprint into North Africa through its new alliance with Morocco-based Salidor.
Under the terms of the agreement, Eclipse’s 82nd licensee will manufacture and distribute mattresses under the Eclipse and Eastman House brands throughout Morocco, with an eye toward eventually extending to dealers in other neighboring territories.
“Salidor is an excellent addition to our licensing group,” said Stuart Carlitz, president and chief executive officer of Eclipse International. “It is important to our business model that we be present in all corners of the world, and there are plenty of opportunities on the African continent.”
Founded in 1993, Salidor has established itself as one of North Africa’s most successful manufacturers of mattresses, pillows and polyurethane foam. The company has focused its product development efforts on creating merchandise that provides a restful, healthy and rejuvenating night’s sleep.
“Salidor produces the high-quality that Eclipse looks for in its licensed partners. We look forward to meeting the demands of the North African market and helping Eclipse extend its network and worldwide reach,” said Khalid Sagiri, general manager of Salidor. “Eclipse’s patents and brand capabilities will help us increase our average price-per-piece as well as assisting in our efforts to gain market share in this territory.”
