Currey & Company Opens New Atlanta Showroom
Atlanta, Georgia-based home décor manufacturer Currey & Company has opened a new showroom in Atlanta and will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting on July 16 at 4 p.m.
Founded in 1988 by Robert and Suzy Currey, the company is now led by their son, Brownlee. The new 10,000+ square foot showroom was scheduled to open in January 2021 but was delayed due to Covid-19. “Our industry is about people and products, our new flagship showroom was built with this in mind,” said B. Currey.
The new space took 15 months to complete, from architectural drawings to the actual finished showroom. The buildout took much longer than planned due to Covid-19 and the resulting challenge to secure materials which required the company to be flexible in order to accommodate the timeline and the design of the showroom. Visual elements in the space are new to the company’s showroom aesthetic with gleaming white floors and walls as well as high ceilings also in white. Walls and counters are movable and will allow for more flexible displays and for design events, both large and small.
The most dramatic element in the newly designed space is an oval structure called the Ellipse made of high-grade plywood and covered in a white canvas that appears to float in the center of the showroom. The Ellipse will provide an intimate gallery space to host exhibitions and events such as a pop-up shops, antiques and one-of-a-kind galleries or new designer collections.
The showroom is open year-round, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at AmericasMart, Building 1, Lobby 3, on the main level where an AmericasMart entry pass is not required.
